About us
Who-what-where is AluTone?
The story of AluTone Guitars – the all-aluminum guitar created in the Netherlands by a company that reinvented itself.
The history of guitars is full of interesting and original ideas that never quite caught on, including guitars made of aluminum. Have you ever heard of an Alu Guitar? It was a mystery to Sietse Schoenmakers (1996), which led to the birth of a dream for this passionate guitar player who couldn't find an aluminum guitar in stock. "If we can't buy one, we'll make it ourselves."
In October 2024, the company where Sietse worked, ORIT B.V. was sold: a global machinery sales company. Sietse was the quality controller there. He and his former boss began planning a new future, a time when it was still impossible to buy an aluminum guitar off the shelf. “We can change this,” they decided.
And so, adding one and one made three. The former boss of Sietse, Frans, also the owner of a private equity fund, Cisles B.V. (since 2010), invested in the joint venture with Sietse and the brand AluTone.
The skills and the passion from ORIT B.V. were still present. With the combined force of a CAD-CAM designer named Ken and Sietse’s know-how, the creation of an AluTone guitar began.
Sietse's Instagram account, Siets96, was also a big help. On this account, Sietse creates demos of guitars, pedals, and amps.
In May 2024, the prototype came out of production and exceeded all expectations. Luthier Ad, a veteran who has been building and maintaining guitars for over 30 years, could not believe his ears and eyes.
The future of AluTone is building an A-brand guitar, crafted entirely out of Aluminum for unmatched Tone and Sustain.
